Introducing Sir Marcus Charles Jones: Former Minister, Whip, Joins Parli-training
We’re delighted to welcome Sir Marcus Charles Jones to Parli-training as our newest expert trainer. A highly respected Conservative politician, Marcus served as the MP for Nuneaton from 2010 to 2024 and held multiple high-ranking roles across government.
His experience includes:
- Minister of State for Housing
- Government Deputy Chief Whip and Treasurer of the Household
- Vice-Chamberlain of the Household
- Vice-Chair of the Conservative Party (Local Government)
- Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Communities and Local Government
But it’s not just the titles that set Marcus apart. In 2023, he was appointed as Vice Chamberlain of the Royal Household. In this rare role, Marcus was personally responsible for briefing Her Late Majesty the Queen on the activities of Parliament. A constitutional duty few are ever entrusted with, this underlines the senior level at which Marcus operated throughout his political career.
Prior to Westminster, Marcus made history as the first Conservative Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, bringing with him rich knowledge of local government, community finance, and civic leadership.
He is also a passionate supporter of thriving town centres and small business growth, having served as:
- Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Town Centres
- Ambassador for the FSB’s Keep Trade Local campaign
At Parli-training, Marcus will be delivering courses on:
