Guto Harri CBE to Join Parli-training as a Guest Speaker

We are delighted to announce Guto Harri CBE as Guest Speaker

We are pleased to announce that celebrated communications specialist Guto Harri CBE will be joining us as a guest speaker on our upcoming Parliament for Press Officers course, taking place at our Whitehall offices in London on Friday, 12th December 2025.

Guto Harri is one of the UK’s most experienced and respected voices in political communications and broadcasting. Over a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, Guto has worked at the heart of media, politics, and strategic communications — bringing unique insight into how power, policy, and public perception interact.

A fluent Welsh speaker and Oxford graduate in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, Guto began his career with the BBC, where he spent 18 years as a political journalist and presenter, covering major global events including the fall of communism and the Gulf War. He later served as Director of External Affairs to Mayor of London Boris Johnson (2008–2012), and went on to hold senior communications roles with News International, Liberty Global, Hanover Communications, and Hawthorn Advisors.

In 2022, Guto was appointed Downing Street Director of Communications by Prime Minister Boris Johnson, bringing his deep understanding of political messaging and crisis management to one of the most demanding communications roles in government.

Beyond politics, Guto is a familiar face and voice in British media, having presented on BBC News, S4C, and GB News, and contributed to numerous national outlets as a writer and commentator. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to clear, ethical, and effective communication — values that lie at the heart of our Parliament for Press Officers course.

We look forward to welcoming Guto to Parli-training this December for what promises to be a fascinating and insightful session.
